UDC Operating Remotely on Friday, Jan. 30

The University of the District of Columbia’s academic and administrative offices will conduct business remotely on Friday, Jan. 30. All on-campus activities, including athletic-related activities, are cancelled.

Campuses will reopen on Monday, Feb. 2.

Staff: Contact your immediate supervisor with questions or for further instruction regarding remote work expectations. 

Faculty: Reach out to your immediate supervisor and/or the dean for questions and further instruction regarding the transition to emergency remote instruction (ERI).  The Center for the Advancement of Learning (CAL) is available to support faculty with instructional continuity, including support for Blackboard, Zoom, Webex and other teaching and learning technologies.

Students: Due to inclement weather, the university will be closed to face-to-face operations. Instruction will be moved to emergency remote, including synchronous and asynchronous methods. Certain laboratory, clinical, and other hands-on classes for which in-person instruction is a requirement may necessitate a make-up lesson, but every effort will be made to pursue virtual learning to the extent possible. Where synchronous virtual instruction is intended, published class meeting times must be observed so that students’ schedules are not disrupted.

The safety and security of our students, faculty, staff, and the broader community remain our top priority. We will continue to provide updates regarding the status of the university’s academic and administrative offices as conditions change.

We are excited about your decision to apply for Undergraduate Re-Admission to the University of the District of Columbia!

Readmit applicants are students who were once enrolled in one of the Associate (AA/AS) or Bachelor (BA/BS) degree seeking programs at the University of the District of Columbia or one of its predecessors. 

Students who have not enrolled in class for more than two or more consecutive semesters, withdrew or were academically suspended or dismissed are required to provide an application for re-admission.

Required Steps for General Re-Admission

  • Complete and submit the online application for re-admissionYou are to select the first-time user account creation even if your UDC ID number is known or active. This online application is appropriate for both the bachelor's and associate degree programs.
  • Provide a non-refundable $35 application fee. Failure to provide the application fee or an appropriate waiver may delay processing of your application. (Application fee currently waived)
  • Provide an official copy of your HS, GED or evaluated transcript – (the University may no longer have this document on file for readmitting applicants after one year of initially enrolling.)
  • Applicants who have attended another college or university after leaving the University of the District of Columbia must provide official transcripts from those institutions.
  • Proof of Residency for tuition discount consideration as either a DC or Metro resident.  Please review the updated residency policy for eligibility and accepted documents for proof.

Tips for Re-Admitting Applicants

  • Prior balances owed to the university must be paid in full before registering for a new semester. Contact the Office of Student Accounts at 202-274-5168 for assistance.
  • Applicants who left the University with academic challenges may have a restricted number of credit hours for which they will be eligible to register. Contact the Office of the Registrar if you believe this applies to you for guidance.
  • Applying for financial aid early is crucial to securing sufficient funding to cover your college expenses. Applicants may apply for federal financial aid by visiting studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa. The University’s financial aid code is 007015. Questions regarding financial aid and the financial aid process can be addressed by contacting the Office of Financial Aid.
