Admission Requirements
The prerequisites for admission to the RN to BSN program are:
1. Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse licensure.
2. Cumulative Grade Point Average of 2.7 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
3. Completion of 72 credits of general education and prerequisite nursing courses.
- IGED 110 and 111 Foundation Writing I-II (6 credits of English Composition)
- IGED 120 and 220 Quantitative Reasoning I-II (6 credits of College Math)
- IGED 130 Oral Communication (3 credits)
- BIOL 111-114 Anatomy & Physiology I-II Lecture and Lab (8 credits)
- IGED 260 Physical Science (Chemistry, Physics, or Environmental Sciences) Lecture and Lab (4 credits)
- NURS 100-200 Nursing Courses (39 maximum transfer credits)
- Social and Behavioral Sciences (6 credits)
Application Deadlines
For admission into our spring term, you must submit your application before October 1. For our summer term, please submit your materials prior to March 1. To be considered for our fall term, please submit your application by June 1.
How to Apply
1. The admission process will be facilitated through NursingCAS https://nursingcas.liaisoncas.org/apply/ and application deadlines are:
- Spring Semester – October 1
- Summer Term – March 1
- Fall Semester – June 1
2. Registered Nurse applicants must submit the following items.
- Official transcripts from all institutions attended uploaded into NursingCAS.
A credential evaluation for degrees earned outside of the United States for secondary and university-level academic work must be completed by a member organization of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. (NACES).
- Upload a résumé in the documents section of NursingCAS.
- Request two letters of recommendation to be sent through the NursingCAS recommender portal.
3. The Nursing Admission, Progression, and Graduation (APG) Committee will review each applicant and provide a written acceptance decision.
4. If admitted into the RN to BSN Program, students have 10 days after the start of their first class to register with CastleBranch using package code IW51 at https://www.castlebranch.com/online_submission/package_code.php to submit:
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification
- Health Insurance
- Physical examination (labs and drug screen)
- Evidence of influenza, tetanus, varicella, measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and COVID-19 vaccinations, plus tuberculosis screening status.
- Professional Liability Insurance
NOTE: International applicants who are F-1 visa holders are not eligible to enroll in this program.
International Application Instructions
If you are an international applicant holding an F-1 visa, you are ineligible to enroll in this program. As a permanent U.S. resident, you must submit your official transcripts and a credential evaluation for any degrees earned outside of the United States.
Any secondary or university-level academic work must be evaluated by a member organization of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. (NACES). You will be required to provide evidence of your proficiency in the English language by submission of either your TOEFL or ILETS scores.
If you are admitted into the RN to BSN program, you will have 10 days after the start of your first class to enroll in CastleBranch at www.discover.castlebranch.com and complete the requirement verifications.
Use package code IW51 and submit:
- Active CPR certification
- Proof of health insurance coverage
- Evidence of physical examination (completed within the past 12 months)
- Evidence of professional liability insurance
- Evidence of the following vaccinations: influenza, tetanus, varicella, measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, COVID-19 and your tuberculosis screening status.
