Emergency Alert
UDC Operating Remotely on Friday, Jan. 30

The University of the District of Columbia’s academic and administrative offices will conduct business remotely on Friday, Jan. 30. All on-campus activities, including athletic-related activities, are cancelled.

Campuses will reopen on Monday, Feb. 2.

Staff: Contact your immediate supervisor with questions or for further instruction regarding remote work expectations.

Faculty: Reach out to your immediate supervisor and/or the dean for questions and further instruction regarding the transition to emergency remote instruction (ERI).  The Center for the Advancement of Learning (CAL) is available to support faculty with instructional continuity, including support for Blackboard, Zoom, Webex and other teaching and learning technologies.

For learning technology tools and on-demand faculty resources, please visit CAL’s website.

Students: Due to inclement weather, the university will be closed to face-to-face operations. Instruction will be moved to emergency remote, including synchronous and asynchronous methods. Certain laboratory, clinical, and other hands-on classes for which in-person instruction is a requirement may necessitate a make-up lesson, but every effort will be made to pursue virtual learning to the extent possible. Where synchronous virtual instruction is intended, published class meeting times must be observed so that students’ schedules are not disrupted.

The safety and security of our students, faculty, staff, and the broader community remain our top priority. We will continue to provide updates regarding the status of the university’s academic and administrative offices as conditions change.

Please continue to check our website and social media channels for the latest information.

If you have any safety concerns, contact OPSEM at 202-274-5050. For all immediate emergencies, call 911.

Thank you for your continued dedication to our students and to UDC’s mission.

Scholarships at UDC

The New Scholarship Matching Tool is Here!

Scholarship Universe

The University of the District of Columbia’s Office of Financial Aid is pleased to announce the launch of Scholarship Universe (SU).

Everything about finding and applying to scholarship opportunities – both internal and external– has just gotten easier for UDC Firebirds with SU. The University of the District of Columbia is introducing a new easy, mobile, personalized process that makes finding and applying for scholarships much easier. It’s an easier process because you don’t search for scholarships…SU matches you to scholarship opportunities based on the questions you answer in your profile. The more questions you answer, the more matches you make.

SU allows currently enrolled and admitted Firebirds who have a valid UDC Username and Password to access the SU portal. This online scholarship platform matches Firebirds to vetted external scholarship opportunities ensuring that the scholarship opportunity is both reliable and valid.

Scholarship Universe will Allow You To...

  • Answer questions and match to scholarship opportunities
  • Easily apply online to multiple scholarship opportunities through the SU portal
  • View scholarship metrics to determine your chances of receiving a scholarship
  • See the effort required to apply for a scholarship
  • Be alerted when you are matched to a new scholarship opportunity
  • Receive automated reminders about outstanding tasks and next steps

How to Login to Scholarship Universe

  1. Click the following link Scholarship Universe
  2. Enter your UDC Username and Password
  3. Answer student profile questions
  4. Once you have answered the profile questions, you may begin applying for scholarships.

Interested in Having Your Organization’s Scholarship Added to Our Database?

Thank you for your interest in offering your organization’s scholarship to the students of the University of the District of Columbia (UDC). Each scholarship that is offered to UDC students must go through the ScholarshipUniverse extensive vetting process.  This process assures our students they are applying for legitimate scholarships.

To submit your scholarship for vetting, please click the following Vet Your Scholarship and follow the online instructions. Once the scholarship has been submitted, you will receive a confirmation email.  Once the review process is complete, you will receive a follow-up email informing of the vetting results.

Building 39, Suite A-133
