Liberal Studies - AA or AS

Program Overview

Associate of Liberal Arts

Get ready for success at the University of the District of Columbia with a solid foundation of the fundamentals. At UDC, you can choose between the Associate of Arts or the Associate of Science in Liberal Arts degree paths to prepare you for wherever your unique academic journey takes you next.

Before you decide on a four-year degree, why not check off two years' worth of general education and elective requirements?

By completing the Associate of Liberal Arts program, you'll earn an associate degree equivalent to the first two years of a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science program. Pick the path that best fits you and take your first step towards a rewarding degree and a successful career!

At UDC, we strategically designed the Associate of Liberal Arts program to fulfill the needs of students who:

  • Are interested in obtaining a two-year degree.
  • Want to complete the first two years of an undergraduate degree in a community college before transferring to a four-year institution.
  • Are undecided and need the opportunity to explore different areas of interest.
